It has been confirmed that the Ministry of Education is reviewing measures to ease the school standard that allows all students to attend school every day.

An official from the Ministry of Education said on the 8th, "Recently, the Gwangju-Sejong City Office of Education announced that it would set the standard for small-scale schools that can be fully attended to less than 300 students, and is reviewing this by requesting that the standards for attending school be eased."

The Ministry of Education is limiting the density of the campus to one-third to two-thirds according to the social distancing stage to respond to the COVID-19 epidemic.

However, for small schools with fewer than 60 students, we have made it possible to autonomously decide whether to switch to remote classes.

Because of this, small schools were able to attend school every day.

If the standard for small schools is reduced to less than 300 students, more schools will be able to attend school every day.

In the meantime, the metropolitan and provincial offices of education said that the gap in academic ability has widened due to distance classes, and that the number of school days should be increased.

In fact, there were places where the policy to expand classes to school was announced.

The Gwangju City Office of Education said that if social distancing is maintained at the second stage, schools with 300 or less students from the 12th will be excluded from the application of density.

The Sejong City Office of Education also announced that it would propose to the Ministry of Education how to limit the number of students to school if the number of students does not exceed 300.

An official from the Ministry of Education explained, "As long as the request for mitigation has been received, we will review it, and the plan has not been finalized."

Meanwhile, on the 11th, when the quarantine authorities announce the adjustment of social distancing, the Ministry of Education has come up with a plan for academic management, including expanding classes to school.

Until the 11th, when the special quarantine period for the Chuseok holiday ends, the number of students attending school, elementary, and middle schools nationwide will remain within one-third and high school students will remain within two-thirds.

From the 12th, the Ministry of Education plans to increase the number of school days for students to attend school by introducing morning and afternoon classes under the premise of keeping the school density.

Another official from the Ministry of Education said, "Because it may be difficult to apply the academic management plan from the next day after the announcement of the academic management plan on the 11th, in order to prevent confusion in the field, we asked to maintain the same density as the current level and apply the changing academic management plan in the future. We guided each school district."
