Yesterday and yesterday, most of the confirmed cases in Daejeon were infected at Chuseok family gatherings.

On the 1st of Chuseok, 10 family members shared two vehicles and left Beolcho for Yecheon, Gyeongsangbuk-do. On the 6th, a man in his 70s was first confirmed.

Next, 9 people, including spouse, daughter and son-in-law, son and daughter-in-law, grandchildren, and granddaughters, all tested positive.

Among the confirmed families, there are soldiers and students, and since the workplaces are diverse, including the Korea Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute, local study rooms, and daycare centers, it was found that only 300 people were in close contact.

The chain infection didn't stop there.

A woman in her 70s, who was in contact with a man in her 70s who was first confirmed, ate with about 10 family members during the Chuseok holiday, and three people, including her granddaughter, were also confirmed.

[Jeong Hae-gyo/Daejeon City Health and Welfare Bureau Director: (women in their 70s) had a meal (with family) on September 30, and 370 (males in their 70s) and 366 (women in their 70s) had exchanges before that. ]

As of more than a week after the start of the Chuseok holiday, it is not an explosive increase, but as the family infection continues, the authorities remain tense.

The quarantine authorities are planning to release guidelines for keeping a new distance the day after the Chuseok special quarantine period ends.

[Park Neung-hoo/Minister of Health and Welfare: In the future, we are discussing to change the quarantine system in a way that gives individuals a lot of freedom, but also asks for responsibility in social solidarity.]

Accordingly, rather than unconditional regulation or suspension of operation,

we are discussing the

characteristics of each industry. It is expected that it will be a direction to strengthen penalties for violations.
