Our reporter is out at the Ulsan fire site.

Reporter Kim Sang-min, I guess you still haven't caught the flames.

<Reporter>

Yes, it was around 11:10 pm last (8th) that the fire started to go off in the'Samhwan Art Nouveau' apartment behind me.

It's been past 7 o'clock now, so it's been about 8 hours, and as you can see, you can still see a bright red flame on the upper floors of the building.

And the black smoke is constantly rising into the sky, and the situation on the other side is more serious.

The exterior materials and sparks are also falling down, so it is a situation where there is a concern that the damage will increase as the exterior materials that are on fire are transferred to nearby buildings or facilities.

The second stage of the response phase, which mobilizes all nearby firefighting forces, has also been maintained.

The reason why the evolution work is prolonged is probably due to strong winds.

The fire department estimates that the fire started near the balcony on the 12th floor of the building, but the wind was so strong that the fire spread across the entire exterior wall of the building in no time.

The elevated ladder car that can climb up to 55m was also lower than the building, so it was not able to reach the top floor. .

As soon as the lifesaving and extinguishing work is completed, the fire authorities will investigate the cause of the fire.

Reporter Kim, there were many residents who took refuge on the rooftop last night, but the helicopter couldn't come.

Was the rescue quick?

<Reporter> The

fire department said it had rescued 77 residents to date, including about 40 residents on the roof.

Rescue personnel are increasing little by little, and it is said that 88 inhalers of smoke and 88 injured injuries have also been transferred to the hospital, which may increase gradually.

Ulsan Nam-gu Office has designated a hotel near Taehwagang Station, which is about 10 minutes away, as a refugee shelter and guides residents.

Fortunately, there has been no news of serious injuries or deaths, but the victims are expected to have enough capacity as they go to a hotel with about 300 rooms and say that the hotel can use at least 200 rooms as temporary accommodation.

The fire department will continue to inspect the rooms on each floor and keep looking for any requesters.
