<Reporter> The

prosecution has obtained a statement regarding the alleged lobbying from Optimus CEO Kim Jae-hyun, who is currently in custody.

It is said that Optimus gave tens of millions of won worth of money to Mr. A, an executive at the Financial Supervisory Service.

In an investigation by the prosecution, CEO Kim stated that he met Mr. A, then director of the Financial Supervisory Service, through an introduction from Optimus officials around March-April 2018.

Through Mr. A, CEO Kim said that three or four people were introduced for two days, including the executive director of Hana Bank, the trustee of the Optimus Fund, the vice president of Woori Bank, and the representative of AMC, a real estate asset management company in the case of a retirement police group.

After that, when Mr. A urgently asked for 30 million won, he instructed an Optimus official who first introduced Mr. A to take care of it, and on April 12, 2018, another Optimus official remitted 20 million won.

Representative Kim also stated that Mr. A asked for an additional 10 million won to borrow, but did not respond, and that the 20 million won passed from Optimus had not yet been returned.

The reporters visited Mr. A, who served as a senior FSS executive and currently retired, and asked for an explanation. Mr. A said he knew the names of the Optimus officials, including CEO Kim, but all contents related to money and goods were unfounded.
