One is 1.80 and looks human, minus the mask, one looks like a doll not really princess-style, another not much.

This band of robots populates the corridors of the CNRS, in particular those of Laas * in Toulouse, the oldest robotics lab in France.

And you will be able to play with it this Wednesday thanks to the Futurobot challenge, an interactive and 100% digital treasure hunt.

Strategically broadcast live at 5:30 p.m., a moment where theoretically the whole family can be gathered in front of the screens, including the daddy fan of Isaac Asimov, this game is a UFO.

"A mixture of reality TV and game show", summarizes Jonathan Rangapanaiken, project manager of the operation.

He convinced the researchers to go for the live game and let a film crew put their cameras on the benches.

An adventurer and a "voice over"

So, how are we going to interfere with the life of these high-tech toys?

At each meeting, a robot will challenge him.

For each successful challenge, she will receive a "capsule" allowing her to continue the adventure.

"We want to put the work of the CNRS into stories, to offer new ways of talking about science," explains Jonathan Rangapanaiken.

He also acknowledges that some challenges have been pre-recorded due to the unexpected incursion of Covid-19 into certain labs.

And the idea is obviously to continue this type of game, with players in the flesh, "in a world returned to normal."
