Another so-called

Simpsons

prediction

 !

The famous American animated series did not predict the death of Donald Trump, contrary to what suggests an image, shared on social networks since the announcement of the hospitalization of the American president, detected positive for Covid-19 Friday.

Donald Trump was finally released from the hospital on Monday evening.

The image has been circulating since at least 2017. - Facebook screenshot

FAKE OFF

The image has been circulating since at least 2017. It would have originated on the 4Chan forum, according to the Mexican YouTube channel Badabun.

An early version of the image featured the Huffington Post website logo.

However, no similar image had been published there, underlined in 2017 the American fact-checking site Snopes.

The 4Chan forum had in particular been talked about in France in May 2017, when falsified documents targeting Emmanuel Macron had been published there during the campaign for the presidential election.

The Simpsons

are regularly given, rightly or wrongly, "predictions."

The series had thus foreseen the election of Donald Trump in an episode broadcast in 2000. Its writers, however, had not written in advance the occurrence of the Covid-19 in an episode broadcast in 1993.
