In recent years, the number of people receiving treatment for anger control disorder has increased every year, and the number of patients last year increased by more than 30% compared to 2015.



According to data submitted by the National Health Insurance Service to the Democratic Party's Office of Clinic Choi Hye-young, the number of people who received treatment for anger control disorder last year was 2,249, an increase of 30.7% from 1,721 in 2015.



From 2015 to 2019, the number of people who received treatment for anger control disorder steadily increased.



In 2015, there were 1,721 people, but in 2016, there were 1,995 people, close to 2,000, and in 2017, there were 2,161 people, over 2,000.



Since then, the survey was 2,242 in 2018 and 2,249 in 2019.



From 2015 to 2019, the number of anger control disorder patients by age showed the highest number of people in their 20s every year.



The number of patients in their 20s was 542 in 2015, but increased to 701 in 2016, 777 in 2017, 767 in 2018, and 829 in 2019.




In terms of the growth rate over the same period, those in their 60s were the highest at 90.6%.



The number of patients in their 60s increased from 53 in 2015 to 101 in 2019.



As of 2019, the region with the most anger control disorder patients was Gyeonggi-do (550), a densely populated area.



However, when calculating per 100,000 people, Ulsan City was the largest at 7.32 people per 100,000 people.



This year, when Corona 19 is prevalent, the number of patients with anger control disorder is expected to increase to 1,389, 61.7% of last year, until June.



Rep. Choi Hye-young said, "This year,'corona blue (depression)' followed by'corona red (anger)' is spreading due to increased anger and stress from the long battle of Corona 19."



He said, "Anger control disorder, also called'intermittent explosive disorder', has a mental health problem beyond a sensitive nature, and it can lead to social problems and requires specialized treatment." "It is necessary to actively manage mental health programs such as developing and distributing mental health programs for the people suffering from these problems."
