Seoul Metropolitan Government filed a lawsuit for damages of 4.6 billion won against Sarangjeil Church and Pastor Kwanghoon Jeon.

Sarangjeil Church, 641 related confirmed cases occurred in Seoul only after the first confirmed cases came out on the 12th of last month.



Pastor Kwang-Hoon Jeon and the church aggravated the situation by refusing and interfering with epidemiological investigations and submitting false data, and the social distancing between them has been raised to the 2.5 stage.



The city of Seoul filed a lawsuit for damages to the former pastor and Sarangjeil Church about the social costs.

Separately, the Seoul Transportation Corporation, which operates the subway system, and the Seongbuk-gu Office, where the church is located, are also preparing a lawsuit for damages.



The Sarangjeil Church side immediately countered it.



Church lawyers argued that if the lawsuit was to be filed, the problem would be China, where the virus was first identified, and that the government should take responsibility for not preventing the virus.
