The StopCovid application is far from having met its audience.

After three months of availability, less than 200 notifications of contact cases have been sent, according to data published on Tuesday by the Covid-19 control and liaison committee (CCL-Covid).

On August 20, fewer than 72 notifications had been sent, according to the Directorate General of Health, and only 14 after the first three weeks, recalls Numerama.

Bringing together 13 members, including two senators and two deputies, the CCL's mission is "to assess the real contribution of digital tools to their action, and to determine whether or not they are likely to make a significant difference in their work. the treatment of the epidemic ”.

The structure must also "verify throughout these operations compliance with the guarantees surrounding medical confidentiality and the protection of personal data".

700,000 uninstallations

According to figures provided by CCL-Covid, the app has been downloaded "around 2.4 million times".

But there would also be 700,000 uninstallations.

It should also be considered that "several thousand people have not activated the application, having downloaded it but never consulting it", indicates the control and liaison committee.

However, these data are not sourced, deplores Numerama.

StopCovid would therefore only concern 2.5% of the French population.

"At least 30 to 40% of the population" should use the device for it to be effective, even if the most optimistic set "this threshold at 20%", underlines the monitoring committee.
