Still from the series 'Venom'

The third chapter of the 'Los Javis' series will premiere in more than 200 theaters throughout Spain this September 17 at an event in which the first two episodes will also be screened

Almost three months after the launch of its second chapter,

Veneno

, the series based on the life of Cristina Ortiz

La Veneno

, returns in style with a special event this Thursday, September 17.

The expected third episode, along with the previous two, will be screened in 225 cinemas throughout Spain

, 226 in total if one more room in Andorra La Vella is taken into account.

A few days later, on September 20, the new chapter will be available to all Atresplayer Premium subscribers.

After being forced to stop the filming of the series due to the coronavirus,

Javier Clavo and Javier Ambrossi

(

Los Javis

), the creators of the series, and their team finalized the recording in August.

Despite everything, it was well advanced before the state of alarm, as it was not a series of set, they had to wait for the right moment to return to work.

At first, his goal was to have the eight episodes ready in March and hold a special event at Cines Callao at the end of that month to premiere it, something that was impossible due to the health crisis.

Now, with all the filmed material, fans of the series will be able to enjoy the first three chapters on the big screen this Thursday and

a weekly episode every Sunday.

Veneno

, one of the most anticipated television premieres of 2020, was released on March 29 in a state of alarm with the broadcast of its first chapter.

At the start of the series, you can see how

La Veneno

ends up entering the world of television after being discovered by a reporter from the program

Tonight we crossed the Mississipi

(played by Lola Dueñas) when she was a prostitute in the Parque del Oeste in Madrid back in 1996. In turn, in another timeline it is narrated how 10 years later he meets

Valeria Vegas

,

the author of the book about his life (

I say! Neither whore nor saint

) on which

Los Javis

used to write the script for the series

.

For Valeria, who at that time was still a boy who was studying journalism in Valencia,

La Veneno

was a benchmark and meeting her ends up being a turning point in her life to take the final step of becoming a woman.

To see the

second chapter we

had to wait almost three months.

The team of the series chose a symbolic date for its premiere, June 28, World LGTBI Pride Day

, a community for which

La Veneno

has become an important reference, even more so after his death at the age of 52 in 2016 In this episode a trip to the childhood of Cristina Ortiz is made in Adra, a small town in the deep Almería, when he was still Joselito.

The chapter essentially shows the reality of the gay community in Franco's Spain in the late sixties and early seventies.

The cruelty of the locals and even some members of his own family end up pushing Joselito to flee when he was only 13 years old.

Now, almost six months after launch,

this third chapter arrives, first in theaters and three days later in Atresplayer Premium

.

In the

teasers

that circulate on the networks, you can see images of

La Veneno

still as Joselito after leaving Adra and it is intuited that this may be the chapter in which he takes the step to transform into Cristina.

Both public and critics agree that

Veneno

is one of the premieres of the year

, at least for the moment.

The Javis

, who rose to stardom as screenwriters and directors with the series

Paquita Salas

, have made the launch of each of their works an event, as it already happened with the adaptation of the musical

La Llamada

in 2017, by the they were even nominated for the Goya for Best Nobel Director.

Now, the popularity of its creators, added to the history of a controversial character like

La Veneno

, have made the series the television phenomenon of the moment in Spain.

In fact, shortly after its launch,

the first chapter became the most viewed content on Atresplayer.

Javier Ambrossi and Javier Calvo have also managed to bring together a luxury cast for this project.

In addition to

Isabel Torres, Daniela Santiago and Jedet, who play La Veneno at different times

, actors and actresses such as

Pepón Nieto, Lola Dueñas, Elvira Mínguez or Goya Toledo

also appear in the series.

It is also worth mentioning the presence of other younger interpreters such as

Ester Exposito

, known for her role in the

Elite

series

or

Mariona Terés

, a regular in all of

Los Javis'

works

.

But if there is someone who has attracted attention especially within the cast, it is

Paca

La Piraña

, a close friend of Cristina Ortiz who agreed to play herself in the series.

In addition to this role, she has become the star of a

spin off

with five-minute chapters entitled

Paca La Piraña, ¿Dígame?

, in which she herself runs a practice in which she answers the audience's questions with her usual naturalness and spontaneity.

Surely

it

would be difficult

for both her and

La Veneno

to imagine that, for at least one day, they would be movie stars

and that their story would be screened in more than 200 theaters in Spain on the same day.
