It has been confirmed that a maritime police officer who assaulted high school students while drunk visited the victims for reporting to the police and even retaliated against them.



According to the Seogwipo Police Station, 46-year-old Inspector A of the Seogwipo Maritime Police Station was accused of assaulting four high school first-year students in Donghong-dong, Seogwipo City (injury and obstruction of public affairs).



Mr. A found high school students returning to the reading room after dinner at around 9:20 on the evening of the 9th.

Drunk A walked behind them, kicking the heels of two out of four people to make a dispute, and the students who were defied reported to the police.



The police dispatched to the scene arrested Mr. A, grasping the alleged content and approval matters, and took measures to return home.

However, Mr. A did not return home and went to find the students again, and appeared in front of the students again around 9:50 pm, 20 minutes after the incident, and swung his fists.



Even Mr. A is reportedly assaulting a man who was moving things from a truck outside the scene of the incident without reason.




The police said, "Mr. A believes that the victims reported themselves to the police and retaliated against him. Mr. A was drunk and did not remember the situation accurately. Check CCTV, etc., and the exact details of the incident. We are investigating."



The Seogwipo Maritime Police Department decided to lift the position of Inspector A and open a personnel committee to determine the level of disciplinary action when the investigation results were found.



As a result of the assault, one of the students suffered severe injuries due to a fracture of the nose bone, and is currently undergoing hospital treatment.
