Antibodies generated by recovery from Corona 19 can also be used as an important raw material for making treatments.

Many countries, including us, are focusing on development, and medical reporter Cho Dong-chan will summarize how far it has progressed.

the blood of a person recovering from Corona 19, there are antibodies that can fight the virus.

The blood itself can be used as a treatment, or the antibody can be drawn separately and made into a medicine.

Korea, antibodies from recovered people were extracted and concentrated. The drug made by order is currently in phase 2 clinical trials.

Because of its high concentration, it is expected to have a good effect on severely ill patients, but mass production is difficult because multiple donors are required for one patient.

Currently, the most popular US company's antibody treatments are using technology that binds a portion of human antibodies to high-volume mouse antibodies.

Since July, we have been conducting phase 3 clinical trials, the final stage of commercialization, targeting 2,900 patients.

The research team is expecting not only therapeutic effects but also preventive effects.

Antibody treatments developed in Korea are in preparation for phase 2 and 3 clinical trials. The research team said that it was effective in experiments on primate animals close to humans, and aims to be commercialized early next year.

The rapid kit for detecting corona infection using antibodies was recently re-approved in the U.S. because of the evaluation that the accuracy problem that had previously emerged has been resolved.

An expert member of the quarantine authorities said that in Korea, it is not necessary to know the test results sooner than now, but if the treatment becomes commercialized and early treatment becomes possible, the introduction of a kit should be considered.
