A tourist plane has crashed in the Belledone massif in Isère.

The results are still unknown but the local newspaper "Le Dauphiné Libéré" announced the figure of three dead.

"Shepherds and hikers would have seen a small tourist plane crash into the mountain before catching fire," the daily added. 

A tourist plane crashed in the Belledone massif in Isère, relief said on Saturday, without giving details on the outcome of the disaster.

"A plane crashed at Pas de la Coche around 10:28 am," said a firefighter from Codis (operational fire and rescue center) in Isère.

The firefighters were not, however, able to specify the number of people on board the aircraft or the number of possible victims.

According to information from Dauphiné Libéré, three people died.

The prefecture of Isère told AFP that it did not want to "communicate on this subject".
