In the United States, the Lucid Air was presented in the night from Wednesday to Thursday, a fully electric newcomer that can go 832 kilometers thanks to a streamlined body and a large battery pack.

Peter Rawlinson, the CEO of Lucid Motors, was previously co-responsible for the creation of the Tesla Model S.

With the Lucid Air, Rawlinson wants to have the same impact as the Tesla Model S had a few years ago.

For example, the Lucid Air is even faster, the car continues on a battery charge and is fully charged even faster.

The Lucid Air shoots from 0 to 95 kilometers per hour in 2.5 seconds and completes a so-called drag race over a distance of a quarter of a mile (402 meters) in 9.9 seconds.

The car is equipped with a 113 kWh battery pack, which thanks to an on-board voltage of 924 volts can be recharged with a maximum driving range of 32 kilometers per minute.

The first available version of the Lucid Air, the so-called Air Dream Edition, is powered by two electric motors that together produce a maximum power of 1,080 hp.

The top speed is 272 kilometers per hour.

This version will be released in the United States in the second quarter of next year and will cost $ 161,500 ($ 136,459).

Around that time, the 800 hp Air Grand Touring version is also on the market, which costs $ 131,500.

By the end of 2021, the 620 hp Air Touring will arrive, which will be priced at $ 95,500.

The entry-level model of less than $ 80,000 is planned for 2022.

In the Netherlands, the Lucid Air can already be ordered, but details about the pricing and delivery date will not be announced until later.
