On the morning of the 7th, when the powerful No. 10 typhoon'Hiseon' was close to Gyeongnam, the residents of an apartment in Mundong-dong, Geoje-si, Gyeongnam were almost in trouble.

Around 7:05 am, the mountain of the incision in front of 106 of this apartment complex with 460 households in 6 buildings was swaying, and a landslide occurred in an instant.

With the sound of thunder, dozens of tons of soil were poured into the apartment.

According to Changwon Meteorological University, 189mm of rain poured in Geoje City from 0:00 yesterday to 9:00 am today due to the rain clouds brought by the'High Sun'.

Seo Mo (68), a resident on the 2nd floor of Building 105, remembered the moment of the accident, saying, "I heard urgent residents screaming with a'pop'."

The soil and trees that fell like a waterfall along with the trees struck the three parked cars in front of them, and then reached the entrance of Building 106, about 8 meters away.

The wire mesh that was built on the retaining wall was torn like a net to prevent the pile of dirt from pouring out.

It didn't play a role in stopping the sediment.

Some residents of 106 building, who could not escape because the entrance was blocked due to soil and sand, could only get out through the window when the fire department arrived and put the ladder.

“I barely got out of my body on a ladder through the window,” said Park Mo, a resident of 106 building.

Residents said that it was'heavenly fortune' that there was no personal injury.

Mr. Seo said, "As muddy water started flowing down from the incision, the management office made several announcements saying'Escape'," he said.

Geoje City and the management office determined that a landslide occurred as the ground weakened in just a few days following typhoon No. 9'Mysak' on the 3rd.

Around 90 residents of 75 households in the apartment were evacuated, centering on the 106-dong residents.
