Today (3rd), around 7:30 in the morning, the river overflows under Songjeonggyo, Pyeongchang-gun, Gangwon-do.

As soon as one vehicle is about to cross, a man in slippers jumps out and urges not to cross.

The vehicle that saw this man hurriedly reverses from the middle of the bridge with the emergency lights on. About 30 seconds later, the middle of the bridge breaks and falls into the river.

If the vehicle crosses the bridge as it is, it will likely lead to serious personal injury.

Park Gwang-jin, a resident of Songjeong 4-ri, Pyeongchang-gun, was the first to find a crack in the bridge and prevent human damage.

[Park Gwang-jin/Songjeong 4-ri residents: Looking at it, the leg was slightly lowered.

I went down quickly (looked) and the car came over from that side.

So I couldn't come by gestures.]

After receiving a call from Mr. Park, the head of the village reported the damage to the related agencies, and

[Jun-gyun Hong/Head of Song Jeong 4-ri: (Park) was already shouting a lot when I went.

I have reported all of them to 112, 119, and Myeon offices, so you came right away.]

After hearing the news, local residents joined forces to take control of the bridge, and safety measures could be taken for the collapsed Songjeong Bridge without any harm.

This typhoon caused a heavy rain of over 225 mm in Jinbu-myeon, resulting in the loss of Songjeong Bridge, built in 1989, and the fall of Dongsan Bridge, which was laid in 81 years.
