Windows 10: an option to free up space -

Geeko

Microsoft has reportedly developed a new option to simply free up storage space on its machine.

This feature consists of archiving applications and software without losing its settings.

If needed, users can simply reinstall the program without having to bother to re-parameterize it.

This will still have the user's settings.

A feature that iOS users have known for quite some time.

Apple has indeed offered a similar tool with version 11 of iOS.

In effect, the application archiving tool will allow users to remove software from their hard drive in order to reclaim space while retaining their personal data and settings.

These will be kept in the Microsoft Store.

When the user wishes, he can redownload the program, as well as its settings from the Windows store.

Still in beta test

But Windows can also take care of automatically archiving applications that you do not use often.

“To save storage space and Internet bandwidth, applications that you don't use frequently will be archived automatically.

Your files and other data will be saved.

The next time you use an archived application, it will connect to the Internet to restore the full version (if it is still available), ”the tool's description indeed indicates.

As Windows Latest revealed, the feature will currently be tested by Windows Insiders, a member of Microsoft's beta testing program.

It is difficult, however, to know when this new feature will be available to all Windows 10 users.
