On the 2nd of last month, a month has passed since a record heavy rain poured out in northern Chungcheong Province, causing massive damage.

Broken roads and lost rivers have been restored in an emergency, and houses and agricultural fields that have been covered with soil and sand are gradually finding their way through the dedication of volunteers from across the country.

However, the suffering of the home victims who lost their home overnight is not over.

Residents whose homes have collapsed due to landslides or rapids are lodging and eating at the village hall or senior citizen hall.

The government offers them temporary residential prefabricated homes, which must wait at least two weeks to move in.

My grandfather, 87, from Jangpyeong 1-ri, Bongyang-eup, Jecheon-si, has already lived in the village hall for a month.

The slab house, which he built with his own hands and said that he had lived for more than 60 years, was destroyed after the last heavy rain.

On the 2nd, the grandfather of Nam recalled the terrible situation, saying, "(The stream was flowing backwards), and the water was filled in an instant so that the blankets and shoes floated, and a pile of dirt was pushed into it." I did.

He said, "Because I'm living on my own, I'm so frustrated, and I can't express my heart," he said.

In Jecheon, 39 cases of radio wave and 37 cases of half-wave damage occurred at that time.

Among them, 19 people, including a man's grandfather, applied for a temporary assembly house for victims supported by the government.

Temporary assembly houses are 24m2 container houses equipped with rooms, living rooms, kitchens, toilets, and electricity and water supply and sewage facilities.

The installation cost is 35 million won.

It is provided free of charge for one year (extension is possible) to the victims and can be purchased by the tenant at an appraisal price thereafter.

My grandfather said he had nothing and was already worried about the cost of buying an assembly house.

From the 15th of this month, Jecheon City decided to install an assembly house, which is being manufactured by a professional manufacturer, in or near the existing house so that the victims can calm their minds and spend the Chuseok holiday.

The plan is to allow you to move in at least 20 days in advance.

In Jecheon, as of the 31st of last month, 23 victims from 12 households in Bongyang-eup and Geumseong-myeon are staying in 9 town halls and senior citizens' halls.

A city official said, “I know that many of the households (76 households) that have been damaged by the wave or half wave have relocated to relatives or acquaintances. I will."
