Yesterday (31st) 6pm, a fire broke out from the crushed waste of tires piled up in the yard 3 of Gunsan Port, Soryong-dong, Gunsan-si, Jeollabuk-do.
However, there is no risk of personal injury and the fire is unlikely to move to other places, so no response steps have been issued.
The fire department said it would take about a day to extinguish the flames, with 600 tonnes of waste tires.
Police and fire departments are known to be putting weight on spontaneous ignition, following eyewitness statements that smoke began in the open air.
