Unlike yesterday, the actual wind is getting stronger and the rain is getting thicker, making you realize that a typhoon has come close.

Since last night, the Jeju region entered the sphere of influence of the typhoon, and even the typhoon warning went into effect.

Currently, Typhoon Barbie is heading north with a very strong strength in the sea around 260km southwest of Seogwipo.

The central air pressure is 950 hPa, and the strong winds of 43 meters per second and 155 kilometers per hour are blowing in the center.

Fortunately, according to the forecast, the typhoon turned a little further west, and the impact of the typhoon has not yet begun, so there is no total damage.

But in Jeju, I am very nervous.

This is because this typhoon is regarded as a typhoon similar to or larger than Volaben, which inflicted 7,400 damages in Jeju alone eight years ago.

In particular, as the wind is expected to be stronger than the rain, preparations are being made.

With the typhoon coming to the north, more than 2,000 fishing boats have been evacuated to Hangpo-gu in the Jeju area, and all passenger ships connecting Jeju have stopped today.

There are a lot of flight cancellations and delays today, too.

Hallasan climbing was also completely controlled from yesterday.

In response to the typhoon news, each farm has been preparing for emergencies such as house and drainage maintenance from yesterday.

In particular, the Jeju Self-Governing Provincial Office of Education also recommended that all kindergartens and schools that are opening school should switch to remote classes for the day in consideration of the safety of students.

The Disaster and Safety Countermeasure Headquarters are in operation so that Jeju autonomous provinces can take preemptive responses, and are making every effort to minimize the damage from this typhoon.
