After finishing jail, a man in his 40s who went to the victim who reported him and assaulted him was sentenced to prison again.

The 11th Division of the Criminal Agreement of the Seoul Northern District Law (Deputy Judge Ma Seong-young) announced today (25th) that he sentenced 49-year-old A, who is accused of violating the Act on aggravated punishment for certain crimes (retribution assault), to imprisonment.

In January 2016, Mr. A, who invaded the construction site of a new commercial building in Jungnang-gu, Seoul, was sentenced to eight months in prison in March of the same year for stealing belongings belonging to Mr. B, a victim in his 60s.

At the time, Mr. A was known to be revengeful for reporting himself to the police and stating that he had been victimized, and threatened to "I will visit him later when he comes out of prison." After he was released, he committed theft in May 2018. I went to the shopping mall building where I did.

When he faced Mr. B, Mr. A pushed B's body and beat him in the face several times with his fists, and assaulted him by throwing his mobile phone toward Mr. B's face.

Later, on the day of the incident, Mr. B told the investigative agency that he heard the swear words, "I went to the prison cell for a year because of you. You got caught well" when he went out to the sound of a rough knocking on the front door.

Mr. A stated in the court, "We did not know that the victim at the time of the assault was a victim of the past night-time building intrusion theft," and "Therefore, there was no purpose of retaliation." However, the court did not accept Mr. A's claim, saying that victim B is consistently stating the facts of the damage from the investigative agency to the court.

The judge sentenced Mr. A to 10 months in prison and said, "The victim seems to have suffered considerable psychological damage, such as trembling in fear that the accused may retaliate against him again. (Mr. A) was not even forgiven from the victims." He stated the reason for the sentence.
