These are phrases that can be easily seen in restaurants, coffee shops, and social media .

If you don't wear a mask in a restaurant and talk, you can be fined up to 100,000 won and a fine of up to 3 million won right away. Is that true?

This guidance seems to have been affected by the issue of administrative orders to wear masks by 13 metropolitan local governments starting with Gyeonggi-do on the 18th.

Like Gyeonggi-do, some local governments have announced that fines could be imposed right away, but officials such as Seoul and Incheon said that as a result of reviewing the current laws, only fines can be imposed from October.

It is believed that most local governments are currently unable to impose fines.

The current law referred to here is the infectious disease prevention method that has been revised and in effect since the 12th.

A new law on obligatory wearing of masks has been established, but it has a two-month grace period to allow fines to be imposed from October 13th.

It was a law amendment for the order to wear a mask, and as a result, there was a penalty period due to the grace period.

However, you will remember that Gyeonggi Province has said that punishment is possible right away.

So, when we asked again, it was said that if you don't wear a mask in a restricted gathering area, a fine may be imposed. .

Of course, regardless of the penalties, masks must be worn voluntarily.

However, as Corona 19 is rapidly spreading, it seems necessary for the National Assembly to shorten the probation period for punishment through revision of the law.
