Residents of Gageo-do, Heuksan-myeon, Sinan-gun, Jeollanam-do, where the road of typhoons flowing through the Korean peninsula has been severely damaged, are closely watching the path of Typhoon Barbie No. 8 and are tense.

The residents of Gageo Island are preparing for a typhoon amid tensions, such as raising all fishing boats on land and moving large ships to Mokpo and Jindo upon the news that the powerful typhoon Barbie is rapidly rising toward the Korean Peninsula.

Residents of Gageo Island came out to Gageodo Port from the early morning of this day and said that they would use cranes to pull 1~3t-class fishing boats to the onshore stockyard, and that 7 fishing boats would also flee to Mokpo and Jindo ports by tomorrow (24th).

Samsung C&T, which is working on the breakwater of Gageo Island, has also evacuated 5 ships for construction, including a 500t class offshore crane, to Heuksan Island Port.

A construction official said, "We plan to finish offshore work and land work," and said, "I just hope that the typhoon will pass without any damage."
