"Today (August 23. - RT ) we sent to the Ministry of Health of Russia all the necessary documents for conducting full clinical trials of a vaccine against COVID-19," TASS quotes the general director of the center, corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences Aidar Ishmukhametov.
The Chumakov Center expects to complete clinical trials in October.
“We plan that more than 3 thousand people will take part in the tests, which will meet the requirements of the World Health Organization and other international regulators,” Ishmukhametov explained.
At the end of July, the Chumakov Center completed preclinical trials of an inactivated whole-virion vaccine against COVID-19.
The Chumakov Center has also applied for participation in the WHO international tender for the supply of a vaccine against coronavirus.
