After facilitating the repair of its iPhones, Apple on Monday launched a similar program for its computers. If a user takes their faulty Mac to an independent repairer, the repairer will now have full capacity to repair it properly.

Apple is committed to providing all the documents and spare parts necessary for repairers to carry out repairs on its devices, reports Reuters relayed by Presse-Citron . This is the extension of the “Independent Repair Provider Program”, initially dedicated to iPhone, and which allows repairers to obtain Apple parts and participate in free training.

More repairers available

"When a device needs to be repaired, we want people to have access to a safe and reliable solution," Jeff Williams, chief operating officer at Apple, told Reuters . “This latest extension joins the thousands of repair sites we have added over the past year. "

Until now, Mac owners have had to have their computers repaired by Apple or an authorized repairer. Democratization should make it easier for users to find a repairer nearby while unloading Apple's “Genius Bar” and authorized repairers. The announcement comes as Apple notes an increase in computer sales. In the last quarter, Mac sales increased 21.6%.
