Doctors who are majoring in university hospitals such as interns and residents warned that they will stop working indefinitely from the 21st of this month in opposition to the government's medical policy, such as expanding the number of medical schools.

According to the medical community today (16th), the Emergency Response Committee of the Korean Medical Council is preparing a third group action roadmap and a statement with this content.

Following a group break on the 7th, major doctors have taken part in a national medical general strike led by the Korean Medical Association on the 14th.

The 3rd group action will be conducted sequentially from the 21st to the 23rd of this month according to the year of the major.

Training education for majors in Korea consists of a total of 5 years, including 1 year internship and 4 years residency.

Starting with an internship and 4 years of work interruption on the 21st of this month, the 3rd year of work on the 22nd and the 1st and 2nd year of work on the 23rd will be withdrawn.

As a result, on the 23rd, all majors will stop all work.

Business interruption is indefinitely from the beginning.

In addition, it is known that the Daejeon Association is in the process of submitting a resignation letter and discussing refusal to take the examination by specialists.

Park Ji-hyun, chairman of the Daejeon Cooperative Association, said, "It is because the government has not shown the will of dialogue, such as not listening to the voices of the medical community while promoting medical policy.

Currently, the Daejeon Association is urging the government to re-discuss with the medical community on reckless expansion of medical school quotas, establishment of public medical schools, and the payment of herbal medicine.

In addition, we are demanding that the voices of experts and the field be reflected when establishing medical policies.

Specialized doctors are in charge of various tasks, such as assisting professors in surgery and treatment at high-level general hospitals such as university hospitals, and checking the condition of inpatients.

At the time of the medical division of labor in 2000, major doctors went on strike for more than four months, causing a major disruption in patient care in high-ranking general hospitals.

In particular, as the number of confirmed corona19 patients has exploded in the metropolitan areas such as Seoul and Gyeonggi recently, concerns about the work gap of majors are growing.

According to the Central Defense Response Headquarters, as of today's 0 o'clock, there were 279 new cases of Corona 19 in Korea, the most since March 8 (367), only 5 months.

Moreover, since there are many elderly people in their 60s or older who are susceptible to infectious diseases in recent years, it is highly likely to worsen seriously, so it is necessary to provide appropriate medical services.

Today, 93 of the 279 new confirmed cases were in their 60s, accounting for 33.7%.
