A 56-year-old man was hospitalized Thursday evening in serious condition after receiving a stab wound to the chest, in the area of ​​Lille train station. The victim was reportedly approached by a group of young people who asked him for a cigarette. Two young women aged 19 and 15 in possession of a knife were taken into custody.

A 56-year-old man was hospitalized Thursday evening in serious condition after receiving a stab wound to the thorax, according to information collected by Europe 1. The attack took place around 11:30 pm in the district of Lille station. According to the first elements of the investigation, the victim was approached by a group of young people who asked him for a cigarette. There followed an altercation during which the fifty-something was stabbed. Hit in the lung, he was taken to hospital in critical condition. 

Witnesses of the scene and video surveillance footage enabled Lille police to quickly arrest a group of five suspects, including two 19-year-old women and a 15-year-old girl who were in possession of a knife. They were taken into custody.
