College students who did not properly receive classes due to the Corona 19 incident are suing for tuition refund. Kyungpook National University decided to return part of the tuition to students in the form of scholarships, but it is controversial that it will not give scholarships to students participating in this lawsuit.

Reporter Ahn Hee-jae reports.

<Reporter> This

is the'Corona 19 Special Scholarship Guide' recently released by Kyungpook National University.

I wrote that I will return 10% of the tuition fee for the last semester in the form of a scholarship, but I will not give it to the participants in the tuition refund case.

They are concerned about the redundant benefits.

[Jungtae Lee/Dean of Student Affairs at Kyungpook National University: Regardless of the scholarship, if you win, you must give the money as it is. Eventually, double payments create an unfair problem. I asked for the opinions of the students, at the time. The next issue should be discussed with the students(.)] The fact

that it took time to finalize and that students could not receive both tuition and scholarships refunded upon graduation, put pressure on the students. I gave up.

[Kook Dong-Hyun/Gyeongbuk National University Vice-General Student Council President: There may be a feeling of pressure not to receive a scholarship... It was a kind of trick in hopes that the students would drop the lawsuit.] With

85% of national universities confirming a partial return of tuition, the Gyeongbuk National University response may spread to other universities.

It is also argued that the list of participants in the lawsuit has been handed over to each university, and that conviction and pressure are continuing.

[A private university official: Is this a student who participated in the tuition refund lawsuit? At least one or two years, if you go to the Supreme Court, you can go up to three years... .]

Students will hold a press conference on the 17th to criticize the university's pressure to drop lawsuits and urge the Ministry of Education to actively intervene.
