A motorist was arrested and taken into custody after a mad race in Paris at the end of which a cyclist was killed on Wednesday.

Originally, police from the 7th arrondissement of the capital wanted to check the driver of a Peugeot 2008 who refused to stop. In his escape, he collided with several cars and ended up mowing down a man on a bicycle, rue de Rennes. The police arrested the driver and took him into custody. Despite the treatment and cardiac massage performed on site, the cyclist succumbed to his injuries. An investigation is underway.
