Tension is also rising in the southern region. I am concerned about rain and strong wind damage due to the high speed of movement, but I will connect to a reporter in Tongyeong, Gyeongnam.

Reporter Ahn Hee-jae, please tell us the situation there.

<Reporter> In the

Dongho Port of Tongyeong, where I am, it rained all night and stopped.

From a while ago, raindrops started to scatter again like this. As the typhoon's sphere of influence is getting closer, the wind is getting stronger.

At the pier, you can see dozens of fishing boats securely fixed in place in the wake of a typhoon.

The 5th Typhoon Rose, which is rapidly traveling north, is expected to land near Tongyeong at around 3 pm today (10th) and pass Pohang to the East Sea at around 6 pm.

When landing in the Gyeongnam region, the central air pressure is expected to maintain around 1,000 hectopascals. The maximum wind speed reaches 72 km/h, and in some areas, it is predicted that it will rain more than 30 mm per hour, so caution is needed.

I am worried about additional damage from heavy rain to typhoon. What is the preparedness situation?

<Reporter> In

particular, we are concerned about damage in Gyeongnam, Busan, and Ulsan, which are part of the Typhoon Danger Class.

Since yesterday, Tongyeong has been informing coastal and low-lying residents to refrain from going out.

There are many tourists who visited the area during the holiday season, but the cable car heading to the summit of Mt. Mireuk was suspended due to bad weather, and some tourist facilities such as cruise ships were also suspended.

Haekyung also said that it has strengthened patrols all night long and has taken all ships out of the sea to return to port.

Other areas of Gyeongsangnam-do and Busan City have also requested that they be prepared for typhoon damage such as landslides, flooding, and collapse of buildings as the ground has been weakened by the recent heavy rain.
