Twitter is currently testing a new feature on its platform. This is a new counter under the publications, next to those of likes and retweets, reports Presse-Citron .
When a user wants to share a tweet, he can retweet it in a classic way or by adding a comment. It is this last function that Twitter would like to encourage. This new counter should promote and encourage the use of retweets with comments, called "quote" (quote in French).
In test phase
A few months ago, Twitter had already made these retweets with comments more visible. By clicking on the number of retweets of a publication, you can now access these quotes and their content. "Now we are testing the possibility of making the retweets with comments accessible directly on the tweet […] to see if that makes them easier to access and more understandable" explains a spokesperson, quoted by The Verge .

This new feature will not necessarily be implemented by Twitter in the long term. But it could allow the social network to achieve its objectives, in particular the encouragement of user activity but also the increase in the number of monetizable users, which is already increasing every day.
