Jeonnam Province announced that it will completely control the traffic of Naju Yeongsan Bridge, Youngsan Bridge, and Juksan Bridge from 11:20 am on the 8th due to the rising water level of the Youngsan River.

Yeongsan Bridge and Yeongsan Bridge are the paths from Gwangju to Yeongam, Gangjin and Haenam.

As of 1 p.m. on this day, the water level of Yeongsan Bridge has risen to 13.99m.

Currently, much of the bank of the Youngsan River is submerged.

Police took control of these three bridges and guided them to detour.

You can use Bitgaram-daero for the section between Naju and Yeongam, and detour to Line 36 (formerly Line 1) for the section between Dashamyeon and Mokpo in Naju.

Song Young-yong, head of Naju City Construction Division, explained, "The flood level was crossed at 11:30 am. It was the first time that the Yeongsan River Bridge was controlled after the 1989 Great Flood."

"From 5 pm, if the tide rises from the Mokpo estuary and blocks the estuary, there is a fear that the water level of the Youngsan River will rise further," said Song.
