Facebook is considering introducing rules against calling the U.S. election winner early on the social platform, CEO Mark Zuckerberg said in an interview with The New York Times.
Many media already announce a day later who won the US presidential election, but this is not realistic due to the corona crisis. Votes may be cast by post.
Zuckerberg says in the interview that he wants to prepare users for the results to be delayed for days or even weeks.
Initially, the rules are aimed at the US presidential elections in November, but application in other countries is not excluded. It is not clear exactly what the rules will look like.
