<Anchor> The

flood warning is still given at Cheongmicheon, a tributary of the Namhan River passing through Yongin and Yeoju. We connect with reporters who are out in the field.

Reporter Kim Sang-min, it seems like the rain has gone down a bit now, but is the water level still high?

<Reporter>

I'm at Cheongmicheon Wonbu Bridge in Yeoju, Gyeonggi Province.

The water level here once climbed to the flood warning judgment line of 6.5m, but from the night, the rain has dropped, and now it has fallen to 4.5m below the flood warning judgment line of 5.5m.

Since yesterday (2nd), heavy rains over 250mm poured into the Yeoju area, and flood warnings have been issued here at Wonbu Bridge and Heungcheon Bridge.

Although the water level has been lowered, the Han River flood control line is planning to remain alert for the time being, with heavy rains expected to fall more than 50 to 100 mm per hour over and over again in the central region.

Because of heavy rain, the operation of the Gyeonggang Line was suspended, right?

<Reporter>

Yes, due to heavy rain, part of the Gyeonggang Line line in the metropolitan area connecting Pangyo and Yeoju was lost, and the train service to and from Sindundoyechon Station and Yeoju Station was stopped.

The railroad toward Yeoju Station was lost at about 11 am yesterday, so the trains were running up and down on the rest of the lines, but the remaining tracks were lost at about 8 pm.

KORAIL said that although the track was not completely lost, it was inevitably decided to stop because of concerns about further loss.

KORAIL plans to inject 19 buses today to carry passengers using the section and complete the recovery by tomorrow.

In addition, landslides occurred in 26 places in Gyeonggi Province, such as Anseong and Icheon, and some of the reservoir banks in Icheon and Anseong collapsed.

Up to 300mm of rain is expected to fall in the central region today, but Gyeonggi-do is responding by upgrading the working system of the Disaster Prevention Headquarters to the highest level of emergency 4 in 9 years.
