At around 3:10 am, stones and earth and sand were introduced into the road near Jungwon Tunnel in Jungbu Inland Expressway, Chungju City, Chungbuk Province.

There was no casualties in this accident, but the road was controlled for two hours, causing severe congestion.

Traffic is also restricted due to sediment inflow on the road near the Eumseong Rest Area in the Hanam direction of the Jungbu Line, near the Chungju Junction in the Yangju direction of the Jungbu Inland Line, and the Dongchungju Junction in the Pyeongtaek Jecheon Line.

Due to the rain that had fallen overnight, the train service was suspended in various places as soil was introduced into the train tracks.


The trains for the Chungbuk Line and Taebaek Line stopped operating at 6 am this morning, and only the Gangneung-Donghae and Yeongju-Bukjeon trains operate on the Yeongdong Line.

The center line has been suspended from Wonju to Yeongju.

The Korea Railroad Corporation is working on an emergency recovery work, but it is expected to take a considerable amount of time to resume operation.
