<Anchor> The

government decided to inject large-scale grants to universities that returned some of the tuition fees in the aftermath of Corona19. However, rich universities that have accumulated over 100 billion won are excluded from the application.

Reporter Ahn Sang-woo reports.

<Reporter> As the

non-face-to-face class has continued since Corona19, the government decided to inject an emergency budget of 100 billion won into the university, as the demand for students to return the tuition to lawsuit spread.

Priority is given to 48 universities that have made efforts to return tuition fees, such as the provision of special scholarships.

760 billion won was allocated to the general university and 24 billion won was allocated to the junior college.

In addition, 21 universities, including Hongik University, whose reserves exceeded 100 billion won, were excluded from the application.

Government grants are not used to apply directly to students, such as tuition waiver for the second semester.

As it seems that online classes will continue in the second semester, it should be used to improve the non-face-to-face educational environment, such as increasing the university's computer servers or installing lecture studios.

The Ministry of Education predicts that there will always be universities that are pursuing tuition refunds with this application, but the universities say that the tuition is inadequate compared to the amount of tuition refunds.

[University official: If I split with a 100 billion won budget, I'm going to go back to college. You don't know too much about the financial structure of the university.]

The government will receive a business plan by September and finalize the amount of application for each university in October.
