While the number of legal downloads and streaming offers, illegal platforms are still very popular on the web today. This is particularly the case of the Zone-Directory site, heir to the famous Zone-Downloads. The site administrators announced the move of Zone-Directory to a new address.
An announcement that comes after the creators of the platform have diversified their offer by offering a site dedicated to streaming content. A second site (. Net) had also been created, a copy of the original, in order to avoid dereferencing on search engines, as well as requests from rights holders. But today, all of these platforms are inaccessible.
The cat and the Mouse
The reason is simple and has nothing to do with a nice blow from the authorities. The authors of the different sites have simply decided to combine their offers on one and the same site. The latter was developed in such a way as to pass under the radar of robots of rights holders and to avoid being dereferenced by Google.
In the press release, the authors of the site are victimizing themselves by indicating that their decision was influenced by the increase in the number of fake sites posing as Zone-Directory, as well as by Google's relentlessness against the platform to dereference it in its search results. Google had already managed to block Zone-Download, the ancestor of Zone-Directory, on its search engine.
Remember that downloading content and watching movies or series in streaming on this type of site is illegal in France, because it goes against the rights of authors and other rights holders. Currently, the number of legal solutions for watching movies and series continues to grow, including Netflix, Amazon Prime and Disney +.
