▲ On-site CCTV entering Chungjang-daero underpass

The process of changing Busan's Choryang 1st Underpass to a'reservoir' due to rainwater flowing from both streets was captured in CCTV.

If you look at the closed circuit CCTV provided by the Dong-gu Office on the 24th, the rainwater constantly flowed toward the Choryang 1st Underpass at Busan-dong on the 23rd at about 9:30 pm.

Rainwater continues to flow into the underpass, forming a single'river' shortly afterwards, with an enormous flow rate.

Afterwards, the entire road begins to gradually fill up with rainwater from the inside of the first underground road.

The underground driveway, where several vehicles came and went just a few minutes ago, has since become a reservoir.

In CCTV, many vehicles attempting to enter the underground roadway were identified as if they were entering the underground roadway and then turning on the emergency flashing light to worry about entering.

As rainwater overflowed and the situation became serious, most vehicles turned their backs.

According to Dong-gu, this flooding occurred as rainwater accumulated constantly near Jungang-daero and Chungjang-ro, about 100 meters from the first underground driveway.

In particular, the district is believed to have occurred as rainwater accumulated in Jungang-daero at the same time entered the low-passage underground passage because it could not be discharged between Busan Station and Choryang Station.

On the 23rd, at about 10:18 p.m. on the 23rd, the first lane of Busan’s Dong-gu Choryang 1 underground road was flooded with a 175m long road connecting Jungang-daero and Chungjang-daero.

Two people were rescued from the accident, but died during treatment at the hospital, and one was found dead on the underpass five hours after the accident.
