The launch took place at 12:41 local time (07:41 Moscow time) from the Wenchang cosmodrome (Hainan province, South China) using a CZ-5 heavy launch vehicle (Changzheng-5).
It is noted that approximately 36 minutes after the start of the flight, the probe successfully entered the specified orbit.
According to preliminary calculations, the probe will take seven months to reach the surface of Mars.
