While the larvae were found in tap water in Incheon and some parts of Gyeonggi Province, a report was reported that a worm appeared as a larvae in Seoul.

Kim Mo, who lives in an apartment in Jung-gu, Seoul, found a larva on the bathroom floor yesterday (19th) after taking a shower around 11 pm.

Mr. Kim said that the caterpillar he found was "a red worm with a hair thickness of about 1 cm in length."

He reported this to the Central Waterworks Office and the Apartment Management Office.

Officials from the Seoul Waterworks Headquarters arrived at the site and collected the larvae that Mr. Kim discovered, and left it to the Seoul Water Research Institute for analysis.

Through the field survey, the Waterworks Headquarters is focusing on whether the larvae came out of the shower through the water pipe, through the drain, or through a completely different route.

To this end, the headquarters is conducting field inspections of the building's underground reservoir and its surroundings.

So far, no abnormalities have been found in the underground reservoir, but an official from the Waterworks Division said that insects were found inhabiting the outside of the reservoir.

Headquarters believes that the likelihood of problems in water purification plants and Daehyeon Mountain drainage areas is currently low.

An official from the headquarter said, “Since the discovery of larvae in Incheon has been carried out, the Seoul Metropolitan Government has already completed a comprehensive inspection of water purification plants and reservoirs in Seoul, and there is no abnormality.” "We are focusing on looking at the underground reservoir and the surrounding conditions."
