Concorde successor to be presented on October 7 - Geeko

The American aerospace company has announced that its demonstration model will be deployed on October 7. The XB-1 aircraft presents key technologies for Boom's commercial airliner, the Overture. The presentation will take the form of a virtual event.

The XB-1 would be the first aircraft program to announce a 100% carbon neutral flight. With a team of "industry-wide" experts and a "solid safety culture", the American company wants to innovate with an aircraft that "will be the fastest and most durable supersonic airliner, flying twice as fast as any commercial aircraft today, "reads the press release.

Will the demand be there?

Black Scholl, the founder and CEO of Bloom points out that "our experiences in the COVID-19 pandemic have shown that the link remains a basic human need".

He adds that "faster journeys allow us to discover the peoples, cultures and places of the world, and XB-1 is the first step to bring the supersonic back into the world". The CEO of Bloom believes there is a demand: "We make sure that the supersonic future is secure and environmentally friendly and economically sustainable. We have learned that demand for a supersonic has grown even faster than we anticipated. ”

The XB-1 aircraft begins its testing program later in the line. The first flight is scheduled for 2021.
