“Following the results of the meeting in Voronezh, Dmitry Rogozin, the team of the Khimavtomatiki Design Bureau set the task of speeding up work on the creation of a new generation of rocket engines using hydrogen and methane. The goal is to develop the Angara A5V heavy-duty rocket no later than 2025, the statement said.

It is clarified that work is simultaneously unfolding on a new commercial middle-class missile with a methane engine, which will replace the legendary Soyuz-2 missiles.

Earlier, the general director of NPO Energomash Igor Arbuzov said that the first launch of the Angara-A5 heavy-class launch vehicle with a modified RD-191 engine will take place in 2023.
