At the time of the fire at Yoonho 21 Hospital in Goheung-gun, Jeollanam-do, it is believed that smoke climbed up inside the hospital and spread throughout the building, causing personal injury.

Today (10th), it was reported that the smoke from the first floor of the hospital in the first floor of the fire at Yoonho 21 Hospital in Goheung-gun, Jeollanam-do, caused smoke to spread inside the buildings on the ground floor and 7 stories above the ground.

The fire department and survivors alleged that it was difficult to evacuate immediately after the fire because smoke spread inside the hospital.

In fact, in the video recorded in the early stage of the fire, as the flames soared on the first floor, smoke was seen riding through the facilities inside the hospital and bursting between the rooftops and broken windows.

The Goheung Fire Department went to the early stage of the fire, giving priority to lifesaving rather than fire extinguishing.

In addition, many rescued inpatients and hospital staff heard signs of evacuation from evacuation broadcasts at hospital facilities on the 3rd and 7th floors away from the 1st floor where the fire was located, but showed traces of smoke inhalation such as soot remaining on the face.

Many of the 30 casualties sustained estimates that smoke and toxic gases spread through the hospital's internal passages and vents throughout the building, as many were wounded from suffocation rather than direct injury from a flame.

The rescued medical staff even said, "The smoke went up too quickly and there was no situation."

The thick smoke made it difficult for more than 80 inpatients and hospital staff to evacuate.

In the situation where the fire occurred on the first floor and the entrance to the first floor was blocked, evacuees had to evacuate to the upper floor or rooftop to wait for the rescue, but due to the smoky and blackout situation, they couldn't find an evacuation route, so they evacuated to the lower floor. There was also a case of inhaling.

In particular, two fatalities found on the stairs on the 2nd and 3rd floors were identified as inpatients on the 6th floor, and they are also believed to have been suffocated by smoke as they walked down the stairs without knowing exactly where the fire was.

Although the first-floor door was closed to control access to the hospital with Corona 19, the access control does not seem to have affected the incidence of personal injury because the door is not locked.

Goheung-gun said that the hospital was built before the relevant regulations were created, and that it was not subject to sprinkler installation.

Meanwhile, at 3:42 AM, two people were killed and 28 others were injured in the fire at Yoonho 21 Hospital in Goheung-gun, Jeonnam.

Of the 28 wounded, 9 were seriously injured.
