In August and November of last year, the former President Park Geun-hye was sent back to the Seoul High Court by destroying and sending back the case of the former National Intelligence Service case and the case of receiving special expenses for the National Intelligence Service.

In the case of the National Agricultural Cooperative case, where Park Geun-hye, Lee Jae-yong, and Choi Seo-won were dealt with, the Supreme Court sentenced Park for alleged bribery separately from other crimes. I judged.

In the case of the National Intelligence Service's extraordinary expenses collection case, it was judged that, unlike the 2nd trial, which recognized only 2.7 billion won in treasury losses, it was necessary to admit that it was a crime of 3.34 billion won in treasury losses and 200 million won in bribery.

The Seoul High Court, which heard the two cases together, today sentenced former President Park to 20 years in prison and a fine of 18 billion won, as well as a fine of 3.5 billion won.

Of the 14 crimes, six were sentenced to six years in prison and five years in prison for the remaining eight charges, including abuse of authority and loss of national treasury.

Ten years in prison was reduced compared to the second trial, but most of the allegations of compulsory conspiracy with Choi Seo-won were innocent as judged by the Supreme Court.

The court explained that former President Park failed to fulfill his obligations under the Constitution, causing great confusion in the state, and even though the wounds have not recovered, he has considered little personal gain and already considered politically bankrupt. .

President Park, who has been refusing all trials since October 2017, was also absent from today's sentence, but the sentence will be imposed if he does not reconsider within a week.
