Motorola introduces its first 5G smartphone - Geeko

For almost a year now, smartphones compatible with 5G have been multiplying. A market in which there are mainly high-end models, not necessarily accessible. This is where the Motorola Moto G 5G Plus comes in handy.

The new smartphone from the American manufacturer is positioned in the mid-range, with more modest characteristics, but appreciable for a model compatible with 5G.

Under the hood

At a diagonal of 6.7 inches, the Moto G 5G Plus displays on an almost borderless FHD + screen, with a resolution 1080 x 2520 pixels and a refresh rate of 90 Hz. No notch on the phone, but two holes that house two separate 16-megapixel and 8-megapixel ultra-wide selfie cameras.

On the back, the smartphone has a base of four photo sensors: a main lens of 48 MP, an ultra wide-angle of 8 MP, a macro lens of 5 MP and a depth sensor of 2 MP.

The Moto G 5G Plus runs on a Snapdragon 765 chip, obviously compatible with 5G thanks to the X52 modem. It has a 5000 mAh battery, as well as a 20 W TurboPower fast charge via USB-C. And good news for potential buyers, the smartphone also includes a jack. We regret, however, that the fingerprint reader is located on a side key of the phone.

A positioning that may surprise

Surprisingly, the American manufacturer's smartphone - bought by Lenovo in 2014 - will not be released in the United States. The Moto G 5G Plus will be marketed from July 8 in Europe for the very competitive price of 349 euros for the 4 GB version of RAM and storage of 64 GB. It will cost 399 euros for the 6 GB version of RAM and 128 GB of storage space.

The smartphone will also be marketed in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates in the coming months. Motorola says a 5G compatible model under $ 500 will also be launched in the United States in the fall.
