Following the first trial, Kim Ki-chun, the secretary-general of the former president, who was accused of post-manipulating the time and method of reporting the Sewol accident to the president, was sentenced to probation in jail.

The 13th Division of Detective Seoul High Court (Joo Hoe-geun, Deputy Judge Choi Seong-bo, Choi) sentenced Kim Ki-chun, former prosecutor for charges of making false documents, on the 9th, and sentenced him to two years of probation in one year of imprisonment.

The court said, "At that time, the attention of the National Assembly and the entire public was whether the President was informed of the Sewol ferry situation every time, and the President was found to be in the official office, not in the office, and failed to receive the report."

"The defendant (Former Director Ki-Chun Kim) stated in a written answer to the National Assembly that he frequently reported to the President and said that he understood the situation beyond receiving the face-to-face report."

In addition, he said, "It is inevitable that this kind of action is a false statement to avoid public criticism against the Blue House."

However, the Tribunal retained the judgment of the first sentence, convicted of former national security chiefs Kim Jang-soo and Kim Kwan-jin.

The two were convicted of not even realizing that they were false at the first trial or lack of evidence.

Former chief Kim Ki-chun and former chief Jang Soo Kim were accused of submitting to the National Assembly about the fact that the President of Geun-hye Park was reported in real time on the day of the Sewol ferry tragedy and the time when the first wired report was received.

Former Director Kim Gwan-jin was handed over to the court for allegedly changing the President's Order (Basic Guidelines for National Crisis Management) of the National Crisis Management Control Tower to the Blue House, without going through a due process, without charge.

As a result of the prosecution investigation, the time when the written report reached the official residence of the former President Park on the day of the accident was around 10:19~20 am, and the time when former chief Kim Jang-soo reported the first phone call to the former president at 10:22 am Has been revealed.

The Blue House insisted that former President Park had received a written report at around 10 am and had called the former chief of staff Jang Jang-soo about 10:15 am, but insisted that they all ordered a “total rescue”.
