An iPad model soon obsolete - Geeko

As time goes by, the Californian firm distances itself from its too old products. This is why it regularly updates the list of products which it considers obsolete. Mac, iPhone, iPod, iPad, everything goes there. After several MacBook models, it's the first generation iPad Mini to make its appearance on the famous list.

Eight years after its launch in 2012, Apple will no longer offer repair services for this small model at a very affordable price. The discontinuation of Apple support concerns all devices whose marketing ended seven years ago or more. Spare parts will no longer be produced either for Apple Stores or for third-party services approved by the firm.

Repair will remain possible

However, owners of a first generation iPad Mini will still be able to take advantage of the "repair of old Apple products" program, an extended warranty. The firm may make one or other repair only on the basis of its stocks of available parts. If Apple does not have the part necessary to repair a first generation iPad Mini, you will have to turn to other repairers in the hope that they have this part.

In addition to the first generation iPad Mini, the 2011 21.5-inch iMac will also join the list of obsolete Apple products from July 31.
