The youtuber MrBeast gave $ 20,000 to the last four participants in a peculiar competition consisting of spending time sticking - almost literally - to the phone: you had to use an application in which a button appeared on the screen that had to be kept pressed so as not to lose .

The premise was simple and there were hardly any rules; download the app and touch the screen. The prize for the person with the most patience (or the fewest commitments) was $ 25,000. The tournament started on June 30 and ended on July 3 .

In reality, the 'battle' should only leave one person as the winner, but after 70 hours in a row, Jimmy Donaldson , the real name of the content creator, decided to present the same prize of $ 20,000 to the last four participants. Those who had participated could vote to choose how much money would be obtained in the event that there was more than one winner.

In addition, throughout the competition (on Day 2, specifically), Donaldson offered $ 5,000 to two people for lifting their finger (and thereby losing the chance of winning the final prize), which they accepted (presumably, delighted). The following day it doubled this amount and two other competitors abandoned the contest.

The app was developed by the MSCHF art collective, which launches quirky products or apps (like a recreation of The Office on Slack, a pair of Jordan River holy water sneakers, or a fountain identical to Times New Roman, but somewhat larger for work. with fewer words) every two weeks.

To avoid cheating, the app forced you to move your finger from time to time, so, in principle, it was not possible to stick the phone to your hand, put the charger and forget about it. In any case, according to Donaldson The Verge, the beauty of the game was precisely that they couldn't control it.
