The Corona warning app for contact tracking of Covid-19 infected people only learns to count properly when the application is updated. In the old version, the app, which has now been downloaded 14.4 million times, failed to continue counting after 14 active days.

"We therefore ask users to update the app with the latest version 1.0.3. After that, it is possible that the day counter starts again. However, past contacts are still stored on the device and are not lost," said a SAP Speaker with.

The software company from Walldorf developed the application together with Deutsche Telekom on behalf of the federal government. According to SAP, the Corona warning app works flawlessly regardless of the display and continues to determine contacts.

In the meantime, more than 15 percent of Germans have downloaded the app. Researchers at Oxford University are of the opinion that the app will then have an effect. Users who have installed the app will be informed if they have had contact with a person who has been diagnosed with Covid-19.

The use of the Corona warning app is voluntary. The federal government recommends their use. The app is a central component of the government's strategy to prevent a high number of Covid-19 infections in Germany.
