The court sentenced a woman who had abused her, such as tearing a notebook in her 11-year-old daughter's mouth for not doing her homework well.

Today (29th), the third detective of the Jeju District Court (Judge Park Jun-suk) announced that he sentenced 39-year-old A, who was accused of violating the Child Welfare Act, to two years in prison for one year in prison.

Mr. A was found to have abused her daughter B five times from September 2018 to March of this year. The reason was that Ms. B did not do her homework well and was angry at her late arrival.

In particular, in October last year, Mr. A ripped a notebook in a house in Jeju City, put it in Ms. B's mouth, and assaulted a body part, such as the head and shoulders. When the counselor of the child protection agency who visited the home attempted to talk to Miss B, Mr. A also made a fist on the counselor to prevent this. In addition, Mr. A was ordered by the court to temporarily refrain from accessing Miss B, but he also accused him of violating the attempt by calling his daughter several times in April.

However, despite persistent abuse, Ms. B was reportedly told the court that she did not want to punish her mother.

The court said, "The defendant seems to have committed a crime due to depression and excessive educational enthusiasm while divorcing her husband for a long time after raising the child after giving birth to a victim. The crime is heavy." However, he said the reason for the sentence was that "the victim took into account the fact that he did not want punishment, that the defendant seriously reflects on him and deeply pledges to raise it properly, and that he is the first offender."
